Lord Beaverbrook. in the "Daily Express," has started a campaign to grow more food in Britain. He urges that there should be an <:nd to the policy of Mr W. E. Elliot (Minister for Agriculture) of regulating and restricting the output (if food from British farms, and favours development by tariffs. Lord Beaverbrook suggests thai a duty of 2d a pound on imported I'oreign meat would bring in £9,000,000 a year if Argentine imports were maintained. The duty on eggs, he says, should be 33 per cent., and on poultry 6d a pound.
