OPERATIC SOCIETY
Ways of finding money to pay the debts of the Christchurch Operatic Society were discussed at a meeting of the committee of the society last evening, and it was decided to call a meeting of all the members for next week. The financial position of the society will be fully discussed at the general meeting, and a decision made concerning the future of the society.

Because of the urgent need for more revenue, the Wellington Acclimatisation Society, at the annual meeting tonight, agreed with the principle of an increase in shooting and fishing license fee:; from the existing £1 to a figure which the council of the society shall deem sufficient to meet requirements.
