FOOTBALL Teams from Cheviot played the Kaikoura seniors and juniors at the Takahanga Domain on Saturday. The junior match ended in a draw, 8 points all. For Kaikoura L. Smith and C. Wallace scored tries. D. Mclnnes converted one. For Cheviot G. Harrison scored and converted a try and H. Carston also scored a try. The only score in the senior game was secured by B. Miles, C. Stack converting, the . game ending: Kaikoura 5, Cheviot nil. Messrs H. D. Stove and J. J. Mackle were the referees. Culverden *:niors and Hanmer juniors play at Kaikoura on Saturday next. Smart, and F. Pablecheque. Convent Dalnce The convent pupils are giving a second performance of "The Merchant of Venice" and other concerted items on June 3, when a dance will follow. Election Petitions Petitions have been lodged concerning the Conway and suburban ridings elections, and Mr H, A. Young, S.M., will consider the petitions on Wednesday.
