FOOTBALL Teams from Cheviot played the Kaikoura seniors and juniors at the Takahanga Domain on Saturday. The junior match ended in a draw, 8 points all. For Kaikoura L. Smith and C. Wallace scored tries. D. Mclnnes converted one. For Cheviot G. Harrison scored and converted a try and H. Carston also scored a try. The only score in the senior game was secured by B. Miles, C. Stack converting, the . game ending: Kaikoura 5, Cheviot nil. Messrs H. D. Stove and J. J. Mackle were the referees. Culverden *:niors and Hanmer juniors play at Kaikoura on Saturday next. Election Petitions Petitions have been lodged concerning the Conway and suburban ridings elections, and Mr H, A. Young, S.M., will consider the petitions on Wednesday.
