DEATH OF PROFESSOR SHANN

DEEP REGRET ALL OVER AUSTRALIA ADELAIDE, May 25, Deep regret has been caused all over Australia by the untimely death of Professor Shann, whom the Acting-Primer Minister described as one of the clearest thinkers and bestinformed rninds in Australia. It is thought that Professor Shann's health was run down, and he recently complained of overwork. The police say there, is no need for an inquest. [Professor Shann, who was Professor of Economics at Adelaide University, was found on the concrete pavement in front of the university building, his skull havjng been badly fractured in a fall from the second storey of the building. He died on the way to hospital. Professor Shann, who was one of Australia's foremost economists, was aged 51.]
