HOMEWARD LOADING

NINE SHIPS ALLOTTED

The following vessels have been allotted to load Homeward in New Zealand during June-July:—

New Zealand Shipping Co., Ltd. The New Zealand Shipping Company advises that the Piako is due at Oaraaru on May 29 from Port Alma to load, and completes at Wauganui, Wellington, Tokomaru Bay, and Auckland. She is to sail from Auckland on June 19, via Cape Horn, for London (where she is due about August 6) and Liverpool. The Rotorua, at present en route from London for Wellington, Lyttelton, and Port Chalmers, is to commence loading at Port Chalmers on June 20, completing at Bluff, Lyttelton, Wellington, and Auckland. She is to sail from Auckland on July 13, via Panama and Curacao, for London, where she is due about August 22.

Commonwealth and Dominion Line The Commonwealth and Dominion Line advises that the Port Gisborne, at present en route from London to discharge at Auckland and Wellington, is to commence loading at Timaru on June 17. She completes at Wanganui, New Plymouth, Auckland, Napier, and Wellington, and is due here on July 5, to pail from Wellington on July 6 for London, via Cape Horn and Dakar. The Port Napier is clue at Auckland on June 26 from Australia in ballast to load, and is to complete at Gisborne ; Napier, Wellington,- and Lyttelton. She is to sail from Lyttelton on July 13 £or London, via. Cape Horn.

Federal Line The Federal Company advises that the Westmoreland is due at Bluff in ballast from Australia to lord on June 'O. and is to complete at Port Chalmers, T.'maru, Wanganui, Wellington, and Auckland. She leaves Auckland nn July 3 for London, Avcnmouth, Liverpool, Manchester, and Glasgow. The Cambridge, at present en route from Liverpool with cargo for New Zealand ports, is to comirience loading during discharge at New Plymouth on June 17, and completes at Opua, Auckland, Gisborne, Napier, Wanganui, and Wellington. She is to sail from Wellington on July 13 for London, Avonmouth, Liverpool, and Glasgow.

Shaw, Savill and Albion Company The Shaw, Savill, and Albion Company advise that the Akaroa, which left Wellington on Saturday for Auckland to complete discharging, is to load at Gisborne on June 4, and is to proceed to Port Chalmers, Lyttelton, Picton, Wellington, and Auckland, where she will arrive on June 24. She is to sail finally from Auckland on June 28 at 5 p.m., for Southampton and London. via Panama and Curacao.

The Otira, which re due at Oamaru from Brisbane on June 8, is to load at Oamaru, proceeding to Lyttelton and Wellington, where she is due on June 14. She is to leave Wellington on June 17 for Auckland, and is to sail finally from Auckland on June 21 for London and West Coast United Kingdom ports, via Cape Horn.

GERMAN FAR EAST SERVICE Through the conclusion of the new union agreement between the Hapag and Lloyd, the German passenger service between Europe and the Far East has been assigned exclusively to the Norddeutsher Lloyd Bremen. In future, besides the steamers Scharnhorst and Gneisenau, the Norddeutsher Lloyd will operate the steamer Potsdam in this service. The Norddeutsher Lloyd has always taken a leading part in the German Far East traffic, and, consequently, the ships under its flag always enjoyed great popularity in the East Asiatic ports.

KAIUANGA'S ITINERARY The Kairanga, which was to have gone to Auckland, will not now go there owing to the delay caused by her being bar-bound at Westport. After unloading her cargo of coal at Wellington she will leave to-day for Newcastle to load for Auckland and Wellington.

WANGANUI RIVER ENTRANCE The Marine Department advices that the south mole groyne at the Wanganui river entrance: lias, with the exception of about Soft at its inner end, been demolished. The fixed white light exhibited from the outer end has been discontinued.
