PROBATION GRANTED Harold Frank Needham, aged 31, pleaded jfuilty to a charge of stealing it horse cover, valued at £1 10s 6d, the property of Henry Cooper Smith. Accused was convicted and placed on probation for two years, a term of the probation being that he refrain from intoxicating liquor during that time. THEFT OF CAR BATTERY Gordon Bell (Mr K. J. McMenamir.) pleaded guilty to a charge of stealing a jmotor-car battery, valued at £1 10.-;. the property of J. C. Holsey. Bell was convicted and lined £l, and ordered to make restitution of the sum of l. r >s, ir: default 14 days' imprisonment with hard labour. Driving without lights: Michael KilIteary, ss. Attempting to cros;s when railway line not clear: Robert Alexander Milne, 20s. Cycling without light: Thomas Pilling, 15s. Failing to give way: Thomas Connolly, £2: Robert Watson Austin, 20s; Albert William Allen, 20s; Wilfred Irving Ward, 10s; John Bernard Elliott, i 20s; Frank Richard Ritchie, case distniased. Driving delivery van with no rear j vision mirror: William Henry Maulder, 8.5.
