—__ Q GAMES IN ALL CODES COMPETITIONS ADVANCED A 1 FURTHER STAGE Competitions in all the winter sports ■vill be advanced a further stage this i ifternoon. Teams have begun to find "airly definite places on the various 1 .ables, and particular interest attaches , o to-day's games. There are import- t mt fixtures in all football codes, in f lockey, cross-country running, winter ;ennis, and basketball. In the chief Rugby fixture, to be jlayed on the oval at Lancaster Park, :he strong and fast improving Sunny- ( dde team will make an appearance in a match against Sydenham. On Lancaster Park west Merivale will meet Albion, and on Lancaster Park south University will meet Athletic. The match set down for Rugby Park is Linwood v. Old Boys. All senior games will begin at 2.45 p.m. Association and League Two senior Association fixtures will be played at English Park. In the opening match, starting at i.30 p.m., Western B will meet Thistle, and this game will be followed at 3 p.m. by an interesting match, in which the Linwood and Western A teams will meet. Other senior fixtures, both starting at 3 p.m.. are Rangers v. Technical, Spreydon No. 2; and Nomads v. SI. Albans, at Richmond Park. The draw for the Rugby League today is as follows: New Brighton v. Linwood, Linwood Park; Hornby v. Waimairi, Sydenham Park; Sydenham v. Addington. Jerrold street. All .senior games will start at 2.45 p.m. Cross-country Rimnins Hie Christchurch Club's teams' race over the Canterbury championship course, starting from the Old Stone House, is the chief cross-country fixture for this afternoon. The University. Technical, and Marist Clubs will also nm from the Old Stone House, and tile other fixtures are: Presbyterian, from Iho Spreydon Presbyterian Church. Harrington street; Anglican, from St. Peter's schoolroom; Upper Riecarton: Baptist, from the Colombo street Baptist schoolroom; Methodist, from the home of Mr and. Mrs Shelton, 44 Onslow street, St. Albans. Winter Tennis The winter tennis competition will be continued this afternoon at Wilding Park. Play will begin at 1.30. Tiie draw is as follows: Canter- \ bury College v. Cashmere; Linwood A v. Ehmvood A; Ehmvood B v. Fendalton: Linwood 13 v. New Brighton B; New Brighton A a bye. Men's and Women's Hockey With the approach of the Indian team's visit there is particular intercut in the form of hockey players in Canterbury. The senior men's' cornnet it ion will be continued as follows: Technical v. RedelifTs. Hagley Park No. <i; Trinity v. Selwyn, Hagley No. «'!: University v. Sydenham. Hagley No. 7. The draw for the senior A women's hoekev is as follows: Hornby v.. West Christchurch, Hagley Park No. 4. 3 n.in.; Aranui v. Technical B, Hagley , Park No. 5, 3 p.m.; Rangiora v. Technical A. Rangiora. 3 p.m.; Pukaki v. Training College, to be played later; Southbrook a bye.
