OPENING OF SEASON v ANNOUNCED

A meeting of the committee of the Canterbury Wrestling Association was held on Thursday evening, those present being:—Messrs P. R. Climle (in the chair), G. C. Osborn, A. P. Craig, W. J. Loader, R. E. Hall. H. F. Anderson. J. C. James, D. Rennie, J. S. Shaw, A. I. Cottrell, and H. A. Barrett (secretary). The registration of 12 amateur wrestlers was appi"Oved. Mr A. McDonald Smith was appointed ring announcer, and Mr Tannant. college radio announcer for the coming season. It was decided to commence the season with a match between Al Pcreira and Cy Williams, at St. James' Theatre on Wednesday, May 15, the amateur preliminaries being left in the hands of Messrs James and Rennie. On the recommendation of the house committee, it was decided to issue stage season tickets for not more than 10 bouts, and front circle or stalls season tickets, the tickets to be limited and to be on sale at Lange's, tobacconists, from next Thursday afternoon.
