"ONE MAN, ONE JOB"

That the "one man, one job" policy is the only solution to "one job well done" is admitted by all right thinking citizens. It has been proved again and again that no man can do justice to the dual position of Mayor of a city and member of Parliament. However, Mr D. G. Sullivan, M.P., tries to do this, and although he is forced to curtail his services to either position he accepts full pay envelopes for both offices. The Independent League appeals to the electors to stand by their convictions by voting all M.P.'s out of local Government positions. Vote for Sir Hugh Acland as your Mayor—he is not likely to keep charily depots in existence by allotting the M.E.D, funds for such purpose. Appeal is also made to you to assist the league to abolish party-tickets from civic administration. This can be brought about by voting for the following independent candidates for the City Council:—A. E. Armstrong. G T. Baker, E. L. Hills, James Sturrock. Dr. H. T. J. Thacker, and L. C. Walker. Also vote for the following candidates for the Harbour Board:—G. R. Hunter, C. Ogilvie, G. P. Purnell. and W. J, Sim. "New brooms sweep clean"—remember this when at the polling-booth. (Cut this out and keep it for reference on polling day.) (Signed) B. AHLFELD, Hon. Organiser Independent League. —6
