THE WEATHER The weather in Chrisichurch yesterday was fine all day. There was a light westerly wind in the morning, ana a moderately easterly breeze during the afternoon. The barometer rose during the morning and was steady at 29J0in after midday. Wellington—The weather was cool and cloudy in Wellington yesterday. A light southerly breeze prevailed in the morning, which changed to a light northerly after 2 p.m. The maximum temperature was 53.7 degrees. ■l)unedhv~The weather yesterday was fine and sunny, but the conditions were cold, the thermometer registering 41 degrees at 8 a.m. The maximum temperature was 55 degrees. A light north-east wind prevailed, The barometer had a falling tendency, and steadied at 29.83 inches. FORECAST (From readings taken at 4 p.m.) General Situation-—Pressure '"is now rising to the east of New Zealand, and is relatively high to the north, but, a depression covers the central and southern portions of the Tasman.
