EXPERIENCE IN CHRISTCHURCH

CHEAP FARES DO NOT ANSWER PURPOSE "While the cheap fares have brought more passengers to the trams in Christchurch, they have not brought in more money, proportionately," said the chairman of the Christchurch Tramway Board. There had been a really wonderful summer this year, and this had given the experiment every chance of success, but it had to be said, he thought, that cheap fares in Christchurch had not answered the purpose for which they were treated.
