POULTRY PRODUCERS FEDERATION
WOOLSTON BRANCH The monthly meeting of the Woolston branch of the New Zealand Poultry Producers' Federation wa» held in the Oddfellows' Hall, Woolston, last evening, Mr W. Turner presiding over an attendance of 33 members. The financial report showed th« branch to be in a sound position. Th« report was adopted. It was decided to invite the Hornby branch to a flag 500 evening to ba held in the Druids' Hall, Woolston, oa May 2. A recommendation was made to the meeting that a series of table shews be held in the near future. The matter was deferred until the next meeting. It was resolved to draw the attention of the district council to the fact that nothing had been done to improve the quality of eggs on the local _ market and to request that the branch receive favourable consideration and that the Dominion mark t scheme be adopted. On the motion of the chairman it was resolved to forward a remit to the district council asking the Government to appoint an additional poultry instructor for the South Island. Thuee new members were elected to the branch. After the general business of the evening members joined in an interesting discussion on the various phases of the poultry industry.
