Corrcv spondenro is invitod snd questions will b( answered. 1 Sixty-nine calls were responded to for the week by the St. John Ambulances, which necessitated a total mileage of 855. The calls included 10 accidents and seven country trips. In the latter case the ambulances covered 417 miles. Personal Mr W. C. B. Froggett, who was at one time a member of the Ashburton sub-centre, has been made a Serving Brother of the Order. Mr Froggett took part in the formation of the Ashburton sub-centre in 1913, and later was largely responsible for the formation of the association and brigade in Gisborne. Mr W. C. J. Osman, honorary secretary and treasurer of the Ashburton sub-centre, represented the committee of the sub-centre at the annual meeting of the centre on Wednesday evening. Mr Osman also represented the Canterbury Automobile Association on that occasion. Annual Meeting: Dance At the close of the annual meeting of the Canterbury and West Coast Centre, held in the association's rooms on Wednesday evening, nearly 200 members and their friends adjourned to the social hall, where a dance was held until 11.30. The music was supplied by Mrs Price (Christchurch Nursing Division), and Mr G. H. Dunlop (No. 3 Ambulance Division). Mr George Price (No. 3 Cadet Ambulance Division) was master of ceremonies. Divisional! Notes The Linwood Rover Scout Ambulance division met in the "Whare Kura" den, when the usual fortnightly meeting was held. There were 18 members present and Superintendent J. . Stokes was in charge. After the inspection, an instructive lecture on first-aid was given by Dr. S. Hunter. There was a good attendance of members on parade at the regular

meeting of the Lyttelton Railway ambulance division, held on Monday evening. Mr J. Lister was in charge and a "question bee" on "Insensibility" was conducted during the evening. A short business meeting followed. The Christchurch Nursing Division met on Monday evening, there being a fair attendance under the supervision of Miss J. Pegler. Duties were arranged for the dressing station, Hagley Park, and Elmwood Park. Later in the evening Mr J. Dickson, Corps Superintendent, supervised the first-aid practice, which consisted of speciallystaged accident cases. The weekly parade of the Christchurch Ambulance Division was part of the corps parade held in conjunction with the annual general meeting of the association under the chairmanship of the president, the Hon. Sir R. Heaton Rhodes, M.L.C. Before the meeting, wnich was followed by social, race and football duties were arranged for Easter. The Selwyn Nursing Division met in the brigade rooms on Tuesday, when Mrs E. Angus presided over a good attendance of members. The practical treatment of cases likely to happen on the sports field was demonstrated by Mr J. Dickson, corps superintendent, and first-aid work was then carried out under Mr Dickson's supervision. I Duties were arranged for St. John Ambulance, and members were detailed for duty at sports grounds. Owing to a wet night, there was a poor attendance of members of the Beckenham Nursing Division, on Thursday evening. Mrs M. Gay was in charge, and later Sister Aroa attended and gave a talk on "Lotions." After the talk questions on various subjects were dealt with by the speaker. The usual weekly parade of St. Matthew's nursing division took place on Monday evening. The programme, of work for the year was distributed among members, and thanks were extended to Miss Cross for her assistance. Mrs A. E. Fricker was present and supervised many activities in firstaid. At the conclusion she congratulated the lady officers on the high standard of efficiency shown in the evening's work, and also spoke words of encouragement to the members of the division. The New Brighton nursing division, met in the High School on Tuesday evening, Mrs E. Robertson presiding over a fair attendance. Mrs A. L.
