"GETHSEMANE"

PERFORMANCE AT ST. PAUL'S "Gethsemane," the passionate cantata to be sung at St. Paul's, Cashel street, to-morrow evening, was composed by C. Lee-Williams, for the Gloucester Musical Festival of 1892; and is an impressive setting of the words contained in the fourteenth chapter of St. Mark's GospeL The narrative will be sung by Miss Olive Smart (contralto); and the words of Jesus by Mr Ernest Rogers (tenor). The work is elaborated with solos for soprano (Miss Jeanne Grant), baritone (Mr Percy Caithness), and bass (Mr J. L. Tennent). Messrs Rogers. Francis, Caithness, and Tennent will sing the male quartets; and the full choir will sing the choruses and chorales. The cantata, which occupies one hour in performance, will be sung during the evening service, which commences at 7 o'clock.
