PREMIER THEATRE
I "QUEEN CHRISTINA" "Queen Christina," the new attraction at the Premier Theatre, New Brighton, to-night, reunites Greta Garbo and John Gilbert in their first big attraction. The picture, a spectacular presentation of seventeenth century romance as depicted in the life and loves of Sweden's famous queen, is primarily historical because it brings Gilbert back to the theatre fans after a five-year screen separation from Garbo. The story deals with Christina, v/ho, after being' reared as a man and who was crowned King of Sweden, finds tempestuous love through the visit to her court of John Gilbert, who portrays the authentic role of Ambassador Antonio Dimintelli of Spain. The performance of Garbo is undoubtedly the finest of her career, and Gilbert maintains and revives that force so evident in his earlier pictures. The supporting cast is excellent, and includes lan Keith, Lewis Stone, Elizabeth Young, and C. Aubrey Smith. Box plans for all reserves are at Hudson's, chemist, or telephone theatre, 37-447.
