BROOME PEARL FLEET TRAGEDY
+ MORE THAN 200 MISSING HURRICANE SINKS LUGGERS (Received March 31, 11.20 p.m.) BROOME, March 31. It is now almost certain that a hurricane on Tuesday inflicted a major tragedy on the pearling fleet. It is estimated that 16 men are definitely lost, and the fate of 240 is still unknown. There are only two white men missing. The others are Japanese and Malays. The wreckage of three lugger* was discovered by the Koolinda.
