LONDON QUOTATIONS MARKET STEADY The New Zealand Dairy Board has received the following market; report from its London office dated March 29: BUTTER New Zealand, salted 75s to 76s (last week 71s to 725), unsalted 70s to 78s (80s to 82s): 75s to 76s equals approximately S.G4d f.o.b. Australian, salted 73s to 74s (70s to 71s), unsalted 75s to 76s (74s to 765). Market steady. New Zealand retail price unchanged 10d. Argentine, unsalted 72s to 74s (quiet); Danish, 80s 6d f.0.b., 102s spot (78s. 100s to 104s): Dutch, unsalted 70s to 70s. Market steady. Danish retail price reduced to Is. CHEESE New Zealand, white 46s (4.89 d f.0.b.) (45s to 45s 6d). coloured 47s to 47s 6d (5.05 c! f.0.b.) (45s to 4Gs). Australian, white 44s (42s to 435), coloured 445, exceptional 45s (435). Market firm. New Zealand retail price unchanged 6d. Canadian, white and coloured 62s to 64s (60s to 635). Market steady. The board has also received the following advice from its agents in Canada:—Butter: New York 33 J a cents. Montreal 24 cents. The minimum f.o.b. prices for the period from March 30 until further notice are:—Butter, 9d, less 1! per cent, commission (74s c.i.f.e.). DAIRY PRODUCE LEVIES MAXIM CM AMOUNTS TO BE IMPOSED The dairy produce export levy regulations, 1935, are set out in the latest issue' of the Gazette. They state that the amount of the levies that may be imposed by the New Zealand Dairy Board on dairy produce intended for export from New Zealand shall not exceed— (a) In the case of butter, one-eighth of a penny per lb. (b) In the case of cheese, one-six-teenth of a penny per lb. (c> In the case of all dairy produce of a kind not otherwise specified, and not containing an appreciable amount of butter-fat, one-sixteenth of a penny per lb: and (d) In the ease of all dairy produce of a kind not otherwise specified, but containing an appreciable amount of butter-fat one eighth of a penny per lb of butter-fat contained in such produce. The Canterbury Co-operative Poultry Producers, Ltd., report that exceptionally heavy yardings of good quality poultry of all classes were received at the auction sales held on Vednesday and Friday last week. Medium chicken showed an improvement, and those coming forward were readily snapped up. Light chicken also were keenly sought after, and prices showed a rise on the previous week's sales. Ducklings of good quality were disposed of at satisfactory prices, but unfinished birds of this line are still hard of sale. Boilers. on the whole, were in better condition than those previously offered. The following prices were realised a pair:—Chicken—Heavy: Realised up to 10s. Medium: In fair supply and good demand, and sold as high as Bs. Light: The market for these has improved, the top price being 5s 3d. Boilers—Heavy: Short of supply and sold up to 5s 6d. Medium to light: Realised up to 3s Gd. Ducks—Heavy to ss; light to 3s. Goslings to 6s Cd. Pullets to 10s, while turkeys realised from 9d to Is per lb.
