RESEARCH INTO HABITS OF WHALES

SEVEN HUNDRED TAGGED WITH DARTS CAPE TOWN, March 29. The research ship William Scoresby has returned from the Antarctic, where 700 whales were tagged with aluminium darts 10 inches long. These are numbered, and bear a request that they be returned. It is hoped in this way to establish the migratory habits of whales. The vessel encountered terrific storms.
