* KNOCKED DOWN BY CAR Edgar Mulholland, of Bligh's road, Papanui, was admitted to the Christchurch Public Hospital last evening with shock and concussion, received when his bicycle was struck by a motor-car at the corner of North road and Winter's road about 7.30 o'clock. His condition was stated to be satisfactory. MOTOR-CARS COLLIDE Mrs Batchelor, of Rotherhum, and a child received head injuries on Tuesday when a motor-car driven by Mrs Batchelor, collided with another motor-car driven by H. Thornley, of The Peaks, between the New Zealand Farmers' Co-operative Association's store and Fisher's store, Hawarden. Both persons were attended by Dr. Wood, of Hawarden. Mrs Batchelor's car was badly damaged, and another car belonging to Mr J. F. Cracroft Wilson, which was at the corner, was also slightly damaged. Early this morning a taxi containing seven passengers collided with a telegraph pele on the North road when returning to the city, resulting in injuries to C. F. Lowe, G. Braxton and Mrs E. Ross (Invercargill), Miss W. Branks (Riverton) and R. F. Keith, of Henley. The last-named suffered a broken leg. The driver, J. Green, was only slightly hurt, but the passengers injured were admitted to hospital suffering from cuts, -ibrasions and shock. The ear was severely damaged. One passenger escaped injury, but he cannot be found in the meantime. The noise of the impact was heard a considerable distance away, and roused the neighbourhood.
