THE WEATHER Although there were some sharp showers of rain in Christchurch yesterday morning, only four points were registered up to 4 o'clock yesterday afternoon. The day was dull for the most part, although the sun shone at intervals during the afternoon. A north-east Drceze freshened during the day. i j M.-i.-o. In Other Centres Auckland—Heavy showers fell intermittently early yesterday morning. Rain ceased toward midday; but began to fall lightly during the afternoon. There was a strong easterly wind. The barometer fell rapidly after midday. Wellington—The weather was .fine and windy, though at times cloudy. A light to moderate easterly wind blew. The maximum temperature was 72.3 degrees. Dunedin—Bright sunshine was enjoyed yesterday; but the temperature was affected by a strong north-east-erly wind, which has blown throughout the week. The barometer, which read 30.10 in in the morning, began to fall sharply at midday. I FORECAST i | General Situation—An anti-cyclone I is located east of the South Island.
