BRITISH EXPORTER'S VIEW
NO BLACK MARK AGAINST NEW ZEALAND (TRBSS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.I WELLINGTON, March 13. "The British manufacturer quotes hus prices to every part of the world on a sterling basis, and the idea that he puts a black mark against New Zealand for her exchange rate and loves the rest of the world for being in a similar position is just too funny for words. It doesn't exist," said Mr David Jones, chairman of the Meat Board, who has arrived in Wellington after a six months' trip to England. "What the British manufacturer, however, docs see is that exports from Britain to New Zealand are expanding every year considerably, and in contrast to many other parts of the world New Zealand accounts are promptly paid, and there are plenty of funds in Britain to honour our drafts in sterling." On the quota question Mr Jones preferred to keep silent, saying that it would be the subject of a subsequent report.
