— 4 — Mr D. F. Moncur, managing director of the Dominion Tyre and Rubber Company, Ltd., is on a business visit to Christchurch. The Rev. Samuel Bailey of New Brighton is at present in Dunedin, where he will attend the annual Methodist Conference which, will open to-day. <

Mr D. W. Ross, boys' director at the Young Men's Christian Association in Christchurch, is at present spending his annual leave in the North Island.

Mr John Farrell, representing. Jl. C. Williamson, Ltd., arrived from,the north yesterday morning to complete arrangements for the production ot "Ten Minute Alibi" and "The_Wind and the Rain," at the Theatre Royal. Mr E. Cross, of Messrs Frederick Cross and Sons, is on a business tour of the North Island, and is at present spending a few days deep sea fishing at the Bay of Islands, m is expected to return early nexi month.

Messrs 11. D. Vickery and E. C. Hands, of the New Zealand Broadcasting Board, interviewed t&e board of directors of the Unitea Press Association at Rotorua yesterday, and returned to Wellington last night.

Sir Cecil Leys, managing director of New Zealand Newspapers, Ltd., will leave New Zealand at the end of April on a tour abroad, whicn will extend over eight or nine months. He will be accompanied by Lady Leys and their son.

It is reported that Mr R. T. Kohere, head of one of the leading families on the east coast, and one of the founders of the Young Maori party, will probably contest trie Eastern Maori seat at the next election.—Press Association.

Mr R. P. Taylor, 8.A., L.Th., second son of the Rev. F. N. Taylor, will be ordained a deacon of tne Church of England by Archbishop Julius at St. Luke's Church next Sunday morning. Mr Taylor who has studied at College House ana Canterbury University College tor the last four years, has been ap pointed curate to St. Barnabas par ish, Fendalton.
