RICCARTON ELECTORATE

Mr C. E. Colechin, a share salesman, of 214 Lincoln road, Spreydon, has consented to contest the Riccarton seat at the next general election. Mr Colechin has not been in politics before, and will stand as an independent recommending the reforms in the social and economic structure of the Dominion suggested in the minority report of ihe Monetary Enquiry. Mr Colechin is an advocate of Douglas social credit, and is chairman of the Christchurch branch of the movement. He was some vears ago secretary of the Christchurch branch of the Y.M.C.A., and has taken a keen interest in civic and national affairs. -Mr H. S. S. Kyle holds the Riccarton seat at present, and the Labour candidate will be Mr G. T. Thurston.
