ACCIDENTS
* MOTOR-CYCLIST'S DEATH (PRESS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.) . WELLINGTON. February 20. As the result of the severe head injuries he received when the motorcycle he was riding skidded into a ditch in the Taita Gorge yesterday, George E. Ansell, a clerk, of Onehunga, Auckland, died in the Wellington Hospital last night. P. J. Charles, a clerk of Island Bay, who was riding on the pillion seat, suffered an injury to his jaw, concussion, and shock. FARMER FOUND DEAD (PRESS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.) MASTERTON, February 20. Hugh Thomas Carswell, a dairy farmer, of West Taratahi, was found dead early this evening with the top of his head blown off. A .303 rifle was lying alongside his body. He was a married man with no family, and was a returned soldier.
