Winds Moderate north-east, to north in the northern portion of the North Island; elsewhere .south to south-east. becoming strong in parts !of the Cook Strait area. Elsewhere ! light to fresh. Seas (New Zealand waters)—Kough in the Cook Strait area; rather rough on parts of the East Coast; elsewhere smooth to moderate. Eastern Tasman Sea —Moderate to fresh south-easterlies; moderate to rather rough seas. Weather—Fine in western districts of the §outh Island, elsewhere cloudy and overcast.
