GENETICS AND EUGENICS

Heredity, Mainly Human. BjvEldon Moore. Chapman and Hall. o4d pp. (15/- net.) Mr Moore was formerly chief officer of the Imperial Bureau of Animal Genetics, and is now editor of the "Eugenics Review"; therefore a high standard of accuracy 'and lucidity is to be expected.- To convey to adult readers in lively style the chief facts, theories, and difficulties which geneticists have to reckon with in their daily tasks and to present whenever possible physiological descriptions of characters (unfortunately it is rarely possible) rather than genetical terminology, was the author's intention. He has succeeded on the whole very well, and made an interesting and up-to-date book. But it is a pity that, intending to be bright, he has sometimes indulged in witticisms and ironies which spoil the effect.
