Purchases by overseas countries were:— £ India .. 36,500,000 South Africa .. 30,250,000 Australia .. 26,250,000 Canada .. 19,750,000 United States . . 17,125,000 France .. 16,750,000 Argentina .. 14,750,000 Empire purchases from Britain in 1934 showed 9£ increase of £21,000,000 over it*33, and foreigners' purchases . increased by £6,000,000. PRINCIPAL INCREASES AND DECREASES LONDON, February 14. The principle increases in exports, imports and re-exports last month, compared with January of last year, are: Imports Rubber—£9o4,ooo. Non-ferrous metals and manufactures thereof—£4ss,ooo. Exports Coal—£3oß,ooo. Iran and steel and their manufactures—£4os,ooo. Non-ferrous metals and their manufactures— £ 310,000 Machinery— £ 588,000. Cotton yarns and manufactures—£342,ooo.' Woollen and worsted manufactures—£2l4,ooo. Chemicals, drugs—£3s3,ooo. The principle decreases are:Imports Imports other than food — £ 1.653,000. W001—£2,653,000. Hides and skins—£34s,ooo. Oils, fats, resin, and manufactures—£29s,ooo.
