MASTER BAKERS
ANNUAL CONVENTION FINAL SESSION TO-DAY The annual meeting of the New Zealand Master Bakers' Mutual Indemnity Association was held at the opening of yesterday morning's session of the annual convention of the New Zealand Master Bakers' Association at the Chamber of Commerce hall. The chairman of directors, Mr H. P. Burton, presided. The report and balancesheet were adopted, and the recommendation of the directors concerning dividends considered. The following officers were elected:—Directors, Messrs H. P. Burton (chairman), G. K. Mathieson, Claude Cowan, J. McGregor, R. H. Montgomery; auditors, Messrs Chambers, Worth, and ChamThe convention of the Master Bakers' Association was then resumed. •After newly-arrived delegates had been welcomed, the flour and bread prices were considered in committee. Mr R. K. Ireland, managing. director of Distributors, Ltd., and a member of the Wheat Purchase Board and Wheat Research Institute, gave a brief address outlining the position. A medal was presented to Mr A. J. Jenkinson, son of Mr J. S. Jenkinson, a vice-president of the association, to commemorate his entry as first pupil to the school of bakery, recently established by the Wheat Research InstiThe business ended with the passins of a resolution that the affiliation fee to the New Zealand Association remain £1 Is. During the afternoon members took a motor trip to Lyttelton as guests of the Dominion Compressed Yeast Company, and a launch trip to Diamond Harbour as guests of J. T. Norton. Ltd. ~ . The final session of the convention will be held to-day.
