LOSS ON RECENT TOUR TENTATIVE DATES FOR 1935 TOURNAMENT (PRESS ASSOCIATION TELEGEAU.) WELLINGTON, February 5. A loss of £284 on the recent New Zealand tour of the British golfers was reported to a meeting of the council of the New Zealand Golf Association. It was decided to submit to Christchurch, for approval, Friday, October 11, till Saturday. October 19, as the days for the 1935 championship tournament. AVONDALE LADIES' CLUB The captain, Miss P. Ellwood, presided over a good attendance of members at the annual general meeting, held at the Young Women's Christian Association, last evening. The following officers were elected for the 1935 season:—Captain, Miss P. Ellwood; secretary, Miss I. A. Maindonald; committee, Mrs W. J. Owens, Mrs J. Kingsland, Miss E. L. Sapsford and Miss M. G. Lockwood; representatives on the general committee, Messrs J. Martin and A. McDonald Smith. L. COTTON ABANDONS PROFESSIONAL GOLF (united mess association— by electric TELBQRAPTI—COFYEIGHT.) LONDON, February 4. Leslie Cotton is abandoning professional golf to become engaged to one of his pupils, the daughter of one of the promoters of Coulsdon Court Golf Club. Cotton is joining the latter's business.
