At Mountain Ash, in a bout for the British cruiser-weight championship, Eddie Phillips, of London,"' beat the Welshman, Tommy Farr, on points. Farr, the holder, was severely punished, both his eyes been damaged. At Wembley. Al Burke beat Seaman Rowels oa points in an eight-round bout. At Warrington, Nel Tarleton beat Norman Wilton, of Warrington, on points, in 10 rounds. , PETERSEN BEATEN BY NEUSEL HOPES OF BOUT WITH BAER DASHED (Received February 5, 11.5 p.m.) LONDON, February 4. At Wembley, Walter Neusel beat Petersen in the eleventh round. The opening rounds were very fast. Both men fought like furies, taking punishment in an endeavour to score with a decisive blow. Neusel was by far the more effective. Petersen, in spite of gallant efforts, failed to keep the German at long range, and was rocked by punch after punch until he was on the verge of falling when the towel was thrown in. It was a tragic fight for Petersen, who hoped that victory would enable him to meet Hamas as a preliminary to a fight with Max Baer. Petersen said he lost because he was blinded with blood.
