ROLLESTON-RAKAIA HIGHWAY

— IX)A1) ING RESTKICTIONS In to-day's issue there appears an advertisement inserted by the Main Highways Board which gives notice of its intention to apply for the imposition of loading restrictions on the highway between Rolleston and Rakaia. The board's proposal is to classify the whole of this length in class 3, the

effect of which will be to limit the gross loadings allowed thereon to 6J tons in respect of ordinary fourwheeled motor-vehicles and to 10 tons in respect of multi-axled vehicles of an approved type. For this purpose gross loading may be defined as the weight of the vehicle plus the weight of the load which it is carrying. Any person who will be adversely affected by the board's proposal should lodge notice of objection at the board's office at Wellington within the next seven days. Such notice may take the form of an ordinary letter addressed to the board and should state the grounds of the objection, the number of vehicles involved and also the age of these vehicles.
