MEETING OF COMMITTEE At a meeting of the committee of the Amuri Agricultural and Pastoral Association held in the Rotherham Hall the pi-esident, Mr J. L. Macfarlane, presided over an attendance of 22 members. Mrs A. G. Creed, assistant secretary, acted for the secretary, who was unable to attend through illness. It was I decided to make no charge to the Rotherham Domain Board for the use of material at the recent sports meeting, and also to grant concessions to certified members of the Kaikoura Agricultural and Pastoral Association, the privilege to be reciprocated. It was decided to adhere to sheet form for the schedule for this year. The secretary was given a hearty vote of thanks for his concise report on activities since last meeting. The response to appeals for donations of cash and special prizes for the coming show was exceptionally good, the total promised to date being £lO9 Is in cash, and trophies to the value of £l7 ss. A hearty vote of thanks was accorded all donors and collectors for their efforts. The revision of the schedule was completed, several additions being made, and the secretary advised that schedules would be issued about the middle of February. It was decided to apply to the transport officer of the New Zealand Railways Department for a train on show day, and that if the train were granted, Waikari and Hawarden be canvassed for ntries. The classes for Highland dancing I were increased to four, to be open to I the Amuri, Cheviot, Kaikoura, and Waipara counties. The resignations of Mr E. Stackhouse and the Rev. E. B. Moore, who are leaving the district, were accepted with regret, the president thanking Mr Moore for his able help at all functions and for his work on the committee for the last six years. Mr H. S. Ingram, Culverden, Mr R. Bet hell, Culverden, and Mr G. E. Gumbrell. Chvistchurch, were elected members. The North Canterbury Highland ! Band's offer of music at the coming j show was accepted, and judges were i appointed. It was decided to hold the next meeting at Waiau at the end of i February to appoint marshals and i stewards and to make tinal arrangei ments.
