PIONEER MOTOR CLUB ] FIXTURES February—Beach races, lightweight championships. February 16—Hill climb championships. March 2—Grass track meeting, New Brighton. March—Beach meeting, middleweight championship. April 6—Major reliability trial. April 28—Championship T.T. meeting, Harewood. May 25—Speed trials. The beach races which were postponed last Saturday will be held early this month. Any other riders who have not entered will be able to enter until the extended closing date, February 6, at 9.30 p.m. Intending riders are asked to communicate with the secretary before that date. Riders are reminded that the entry fees must be paid before the date of the races, and the secretary will be at the club rooms on Wednesday night ftfr that purpose. The officials in charge of the races are:—Starter, Mr R. H. Parker; timekeepers, Messrs R. H. Parker, and M. P. Jones; competitors' steward, Mr W. Lawrence; course steward, Mr H. S. Butcher; flag steward, Mr L. E. Cooke. The events are timed to start as follows:—First race 2.15 p.m., second race 2.35 p.m., third 3.10 p.m., fourth 3.30 p.m., and . competitors are requested to be punctual. The hill climbing championships to be held on February 16 comprise the following events: —350 c.c. championship, 500 c.c. championship, unlimited c.c. championship, open sealed handicap. The Ashburton Motor-Cycle Club advises that it is holding an inter-club rally at Ashburton on February 10, and all members who can make the trip are asked to communicate wifß the secretary. A good team to compete for the inter-club cup, which the Ashburton club has presented for annual, competition, is wanted. A very good' programme has been arranged, and members are assured of a good day's sport. The grass track meeting, to be held on March 2, is to comprise seven events, five motor-cycle races and two light car races. - Light car owners are asked to communicate with the secretary about the events.
CANTERBURY AUTO-CYCLE CLUB FIXTURES February 3—Sports day. . February. 23—Beach races. ' The sub-committee set up to make arrangements for the sports day on February 3 has prepared a very attractive programme, and riders are assured of an interesting day's sport. Intending competitors are asked to meet at the Gloucester Parking Station at 10 a.m. The Nelson Motor-Cycle Club has sent several entry forms and full particulars of their grass track meeting, to be held on February 9. Among the interesting features is a prize list of more than £IOO, free billeting of visiting riders, and reduced freight charges to and from the meeting.
