LOST IN BUSH
WOMAN'S TERRIFYING EXPERIENCE FOUND INJURED BY SEARCH PARTY (SrECIAL TO TBS FKBSS.) GREYMOUTH, January 31. Lost in the bush and helpless through a strained back was the experience of a young Blackball woman, Miss Rea Park, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs James Park, of Blackball, this evening. She left home at 3 p.m. intending to go to her father's gold claim up Soldiers Creek. When she did not reach the claim or return home, fears were felt for her safety. About 8 o'clock search parties were organised. The woman was ultimately found about 10 p.m. in the bush two miles from Blackball. It was found that she had fallen over the bank, straining her back and unable to move. She had heard her father's calls earlier, but apparently had fainted and could not reply. She had wandered well off the track up an old water race. The injured woman was brought to her home by searchers, and was attended by Dr. Hutson, of Blackball. Her condition is not serious.
