MONOWAI'S SHORT STAY IN PORTS

OMANA- RECALLED TO TAKE CARGO SYDNEY, January 30. The steamer Omana left Melbourne on January 25 for New Zealand ports, and when she was halfway across the Tasman she was ordered by wireless to return to Sydney to pick up cargo which ordinarily the Monowai would have carried. The Monowai arrived late on Monday and having discharged her Sydney passengers immediately proceeded to Melbourne. She will return from Melbourne at 8 a.m. on Friday and sail at noon for Wellington. Her schedule of cruises is the cause of the haste.
