IRENE WINS AGAIN
OPEN RACE FOB 14-FOOTEBB , (PEESB ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.) , ' HALF MOON BAY, January 30.' Irene, the successful Canterbury; boat in this year's Sanders Cup contest, won the open championship race for 14-" foot yatchts which was sailed in-Half Moon Bay this morning. Three provincial representatives, Irene, Monica (Wellington), Evelyn (Southland), and the Stewart Island, boats Rona and Murihiku 11., ; competed for the first prize, a silver pilp" given by Mr F. J. Biggs, president of the Southland Yacht and Power "Boat Association. The race was sailed'jn ideal weather. - Results were as follows: —Irene 1» Monica 2, Rona 3. * : The Canterbury boat waswell handled throughout, and won-by-two and a half minutes, with Rona about five minutes behind Monica. .Then came Murihiku n. and Evelyn last E. Sinclair, skipper and owner ox - the Canterbury boat, Irene, said definitely this morning that he has sow his boat to Mr Biggs. The Irene-Will be taken to Invercargill. and will possibly be a Sanders Cup contender-next year. -
