AKAROA AND WAINUI ROAD BOARD
At a meeting of the Akaroa and Wainui Road Board there were present—Messrs Jos. Hayward, A. Haylock, S. J. Vogan, F. G. Wright, and A. Narbey. Discussing the culverts at French Farm, the chairman said it was very unsatisfactory to leave it partly open so long. He understood that some timber had been taken there some time ago. The chairman reported having had a corner widened on Pigeon Bay road and also reported that the culvert there had been widened and filled in by the council's men. Mrs E.' R. McCombs, M.P., wrote thanking the board for its letter of appreciation. Replying to the board's enquiry she saw no reason why road boards should not be brought into line with the county councils and have triennial elections.
