THE POPE'S ADDRESS PRAYER FOR PUNISHMENT OF WAR-MAKERS (rKITID PRESS ASSOCIATION—BT ELZCTXIC TEL*G«APH— COITHGHT.) (Received December 25, 10.5 p.m.) ROME, December 24. The Pope, in an address at the Vatican, says: "Varying rumours of war and armaments are adding to the distress of an already difficult period. "If peace is really desired, our prayer shall be for peace. If there are any who, through veritable suicidal and homicidal' mania, prefer war, then there is another prayer which it becomes our duty to say: 'Disperse the peoples who want war.'"
