DETECT THE THIEF

The players each receive a card (Plain paper will do if playing cards are not to be had) and the one who holds the card with a certain figure becomes the thief. It must be decided beforehand which card is the marked card — the ace of spades for instance. The lights are put out or, if there are grounds of sufficient area, the players go outside and scatter. The thief must be very

secret about approaching his victim. The victim must scream, as soon as he or she is touched. Then the detectives begin their work; they are the players holding two other named cards. They must question all players until they think they have clues pointing to the criminal. They must not ask "Are you the thief?" until they believe they have detected him. All players' must tell the truth except the thief, who mav tell whatever he chooses.
