KAIKOURA NEWS
THE WEATHER High temperatures are being experienced, and the continued hot weather is affecting the pastures and crops. Even fruit trees are showing signs of wilting. Rain is urgently needed. Visitors There has been a steady influx of visitors to the district, and the various camping sites are being well patronised. With the wide expanse of foreshore, and the opportunities for fishing and shooting, Kaikoura is becoming more and more popular with campers. Picture Theatre Opened There was a large attendance at tho official opening of Ihe Mayfair Theatre, Kaikoura, on Friday night. Congratulations to Mr V. C. Hughes was extended by Mr F. J. Monk, County chairman, who also complimented the contractor, Mr H. W. Rainey on the excellence of the new building.
