SHIPPING NOTES Tuesday and Wednesday will be observed as holidays on the waterfront. The Holmdale is to arrive here today from Timaru to load for Wellington. The Storm is expected here this morning from the south. She is to take in cargo for Wellington, Picton, Wanganui, and New Plymouth. The Totara is to load here to-day for Nelson and New Plymouth. The Waipiata should arrive here on Tuesday from Timaru, and is to load on Thursday for Picton and Auckland. The Waimarino is to arrive at Lyttelton on Friday from Auckland and Wellington,.and is to sail the same day for Dunedin and Timaru. The Holmglen is timed to load here on Saturday next for Wellington, Wanganui. New Plymouth, and Waikato. The Maheno is due at Lyttelton on Saturday next from Melbourne, via Bluff, and Dunedin. She is to sail the same day for Wellington, Bluff, and Melbourne. SOUTH AFRICA REPORTS With bulk motor spirit, the tanker South Africa has reported that she expects to reach Auckland from Los Angeles to-morrow morning. She will later discharge at Wellington, Lyttelton, Dunedin, and Auckland, and is due here on December 29.
GALE FOR OVERHAUL The coastal steamer Gale is due here from southern ports to-morrow, and will sail for Picton and Wanganui.
