IMPROVEMENT ON LAST OCTOBER (BRITISH OmclAL ■WIBELSSS.j (Received December 6, 5.5 p.m.) RUGBY, December 5. The net tonnage of vessels which arrived at United Kingdom ports with foreign trade cargo in October showed an increase of 4.4 per cent. over October, 1933, while arrivals in ballast increased by 3.6 per cent. Departures with cargo were 6 per cent, larger and those in ballast increased slightly. The coasting trade also showed an all round advance, ranging from 8.8 per cent, in cargo clearances to 6.3 per cent, in ballast departures.
