Claiming that it was the duty of the club to do all possible to check the i practice of allowing dogs to wander , loose at nights worrying stock. Mr i W. Gentlemun stated at the annual : meeting of the South Canterbury Kennel Club to-night that he had shot 22 ■ dogs in the last two years. The chairman, Mr F. G. Savlllc. said the meeting was concerned with the pedigree of dogs. | Mr Gentlemun held that the club should interest itself in his complaint. ; Many of the animals which worried stock, he said, came from the suburb- : and if oiie walked through Timaru at 4 o'clock on any morning one could • find 100 dogs roaming the slices. ) The chairman said that if Mr Gen - 1 tlemun could assure the meet ins; ihat > the dogs were registered the ciuo would look into the matter.
