Savage) addressed a large audience last night, meeting with a complimentary reception. A hearty vote of thanks at the conclusion of his speech was moved by Mr H. M. Christie and seconded by Mr M. Tansey, both well-known farmers. The Mayor, Mr lan Mackie, presided. Mr Savage dealt at length with the financial system, including methods of taxation, and he stated that, modern industrial conditions demanded greater elasticity in the issue and control of money.
