TO THE Mil'Oß OT TUB IMiESS. Sir.—Recently I spent a short holiday ;i(. the Franz Josef Glacier. Before leaving Christchurch I made arrangements for my letters to be forwarded on to me care of the Franz Josef Glacier ])<>lcl. When -Jonving the hotel on November 25. 1 handed in my Christchurch address with the request that all correspondence for me be redirected accordingly. On my return to Christchurch 1 discovered that two important letters an f ) a postcard had been readdressed to me from Christchurch on November 22 and ior> November 23. J Jell the Franz Josef Hotel on November 25 (before the arrival of these letters) and on December 4 the postcard, only, came to hand, having been wrongly readdressed at Waiho Corse. On December 3, about 2 p.m., on the advice of the Christchurch postal authorities. I sent a lon« reply-paid telegram to the Waiho Gorge Post Ollice at. my own expense, asking it' they had redirected my correspondence as instructed. So far nearly two complete days have elapsed, without my receiving a reply. My two letters are still missing, my telegram mis been ignored, and owing to the carelessness of the post office at Waiho my postcard came to hand 11 days after being reposted at Waiho. Furby, Chief Postmaster, he said that the ' arrangement for forwarding Mr Jones's mail from Christchurch to Waiho Gorge had not be en made with the Post Oihce. A letter dispatched from Waiho Gorge on December 4 had been delivered lo Mr Jones in Christchurch the following day.
