SCRUB FIRE AT NEW BRIGHTON The New Brighton Volunteer Fire Brigade received a call at 7.10 p.m. yesterday to a fairly extensive scrub fire at South Brighton. The outbreak was in a piece of land lying be- I tween Pine avenue and the foreshore, and well covered with lupins, gorse, and coarse grass. The brigade's promptness averted the danger to many surrounding properties, as a fresh wind was fanning the flames, and the undergrowth was burning readily.
