Sir. - After an absence of some years, it was my privilege recently to return to Geraldine. the ;,'em of beauty spots on the road between Chrislehurch and Timaru. A day looms ahead when many travellers with whom time counts so mueh will take the shorter way, and in so doinj4 must forego tin: joy of seeing the natural beauty of bush and river, and hills dotted with pretty homes, sheltered by ylorious I rees -truly an enchanted spot, where the tired city dweller may enjoy a rest amongst kind country folk who arfi noted for their hospitality to the "stranger within their So many beautiful places may be reach'd by motor-ear from Geraldine in les ; than an hour, and each one a .special irni in a setting of bush and Krenn hills.'thai those who are fortunate in choosing such a nlace for a holiday will be mure thall repaid by the joyous thrill of beinu; in touch with nature at its best. -Yours, etc..
