THE TASMANIAN CRICKET TEAM
To THK KhCIOJI OK TUB VIIKSK. Sir,—-Same 55 years ago a Tasmanian cricket team visited this country and played several close and frames with our provincial teams. As the Australian Cricket Council does not .seem disposed to send a team to New Zealand in the near future, why should the New Zealand Cricket Council not invite a team trom Tasmania to visit us, say in the 1905-3(3 season? I suppose it is too late to arrange for such a visit at the end of the present year. Now that there is direct steamer'communication with the little island and New Zealand has no other outside engagements, there should not be much difficulty in arranging such a tour, which, while it would not have the glamour of an Australian eleven team, would provide more even games.
