Franklin, rector of Xrullon, and previously in New Zealand, was inducted rector of Selsey, last week, by the Bishop of Chichester. The Bishop told the congregation that he was sure that they would find in Mr Franklin a friend and a true leader for their friendship, their encouragement, and their help. Mr A. K. Anderson. M.A.. who retired in August from the headmastership of St. Andrew's College, Christchurch, on being appointed principal of Scots College, Sydney, is on holiday leave in Great Britain. Be travelled by the Jarvi.s Bay to Port Said, and was elected chairman of the spei'ts committee during the vovage. As the guest of Mr Gerald Nairn (Nairn Transport Company, Damas-cus-Bagdad >. Since arriving in London. Mr Anderson has been visiting historic places asd euucalional institutions. He has met Mr Claude Elliott, headmaster of Flon j College, and spent some hours; at that famous school. At present he is the guest of Mr T. Stuarl-MonU atli in Oxford. Later he will stav with Mr Button-Carter, at. Clifton College. Bristol, and then he hopes to visit universities and schools in Scotland Early in December. This officer Was promoted from colonel to his present rank in July last. Eieutoijant J. A. Mars. R.A. (Auckland), has been appointed to a regular commission in the Roval Artillery, and has been posted to liie Sixth Medium Brigade at Larkhill. In February next he will be sent to the School of Artillery at. Larkhill to do the young officer:;' course. On completion of that, be will most likely be sent, to India.
