ARRIVAL OF 1935 AUSTINS

._.___♦ More than usually exciting advance, information regarding the lil.'Jo Auctions created unusual interest in the new models, the first, of which are now being seen on the road. Particularly for the Austin Seven and the Austin Ten a b'g waiting list has been formed. The local distributors are having a busy time releasing the initial shipment and in dealing with enquiries regarding succeeding shipments. Now that the initial ears have actually made their appearance, there has been an acceleration of interest which has more than justified the very substantial orders that, have been placed by David Crozicr, Ltd., with the Austin factory. The Austin Seven is causing quite a sensation by reason of its new style body, with entirely new frontal design, embodying a new radiator, longer bonnet, and valaneed wings. The cardinal Austin Seven mechanical features are entirely retained and running costs are as low as ever. Other interesting points are the fact that the "Seven" has leather upholstery, four-speed synchromesh gearbox, built-in compartment for spare wheel, and luggage carrier, direction indicators with automatic return, automatic ignition controls, and many other attractive new features. The dropped frame enables the body to be built on lower lines without sacrificing Ihc necessary clearance, and this in turn pcimits a wonderful sense of security at all speeds. Reduced Prices The popularity of the new Austin Seven is doubly assured by the very attractive price" at which it is being offered at present. £l9B is the price—a record low price in New Zealand for a saloon car. The Austin Ten-Four "Lichfield" saloon, light Twelve-Four Ascot, saloon, Sixteen Ascot saloon, and Eighteen "York" saloon, all have a greatly enhanced appearance with the new Austin lines, and have added appeal with the most modern equipment. The range indicates the very ample manner in which Austin has catered for the overseas market. All these models are selling at substantially reduced prices. Austin's 1935 programme is easily their most impressive to date, and the factory deserves the motoring public's hearty congratulations.
